Colin Schmitt statement on new petitioned for village in the Town of Monroe 

New Windsor, NY -- (8/7/18) Colin Schmitt (R,C,I,Ref), candidate for the 99th Assembly District, has released the following statement regarding the recently petitioned for new village in the Town of Monroe.

"The village creation process in New York is being abused, as evidenced by the recent petition to form a new village in the Town of Monroe. In the New York State Assembly I will work to change the village creation process to protect our communities. We need forward thinking ideas and action and that is the type of leadership I will bring to the state legislature."

Colin Schmitt is committed to public service.  Colin is a member of the U.S. Army National Guard and chief-of-staff for New Windsor’s town government.  Previously, Colin served as Director of Operations for the NYS Senate Committee on Veterans, Homeland Security and Military Affairs.  Colin and his fiancée, Nikki, live in the Town of New Windsor.
